How A General Female Exam is Conducted
For routine medical check-ups, the following tests may be conducted:
Blood pressure: Also known as Hypertension, it is the root cause of many further health issues. Doctors recommend to have a blood pressure test every 2 years. Women with other health issues like diabetes or kidney problems, need to have it more often.
Cholesterol: If you are aged between 20-45 years and are at a high risk of heart diseases, cholesterol screening is a must. In case you have diabetes, heart disease, kidney problems, or certain other conditions, you will have to be monitored more closely as well.
Diabetes: Women whose blood pressure levels are abnormal, will have to undergo a test for blood sugar level.
Eye Test: Vision problems are common at any age, and a quick vision test is always advised.
Pelvic Exam & PAP Smear: From 21 years of age, women should have pelvic exam & PAP smear every 3 years to check for cervical cancer.
